BREAD PUDDING

Bread Pudding is the PERFECT old fashioned dessert for the holidays made with day old bread, half and half, sugar, and vanilla, and only takes 45 minutes to bake!

Bread Pudding is the PERFECT old fashioned dessert for the holidays made with day old bread, half and half, sugar, and vanilla, and only takes 45 minutes to bake!


INGREDIENTS
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter more for greasing pan
  • 2 cups half and half
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins optional
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 6 cups day old bread cut into 2 inch cubes


INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8x8 baking pan with butter and in a large bowl whisk the half and half, vanilla, sugar, salt, raisins (optional) and eggs together. 
  2. Add in the bread until well combined then put into the 8x8 pan, letting sit for at least an 60 minutes before baking for 40-45 minutes before serving warm or at room temperature.
